'We came here after a long flight from Alicante and we arrived at around 23:00. We were carrying quite a few bags and when we came into the hotel reception we were greeted by a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I read a few other reviews saying that the fire alarm went off, so I'm guessing it went off due to someone smoking in the reception area. We were also greeted by a small sign telling us that the reception had been permanently moved to the bar next door. How annoying! That meant we had to walk back out of the reception and go over to the bar next door in the cold and the dark. The room was nice and clean and they had put in an extra single bed for us which was nice. In the morning, we went over to the bar next door for continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast. It was nice, but the pancakes weren't freshly made to order, probably just packet pancakes put in the microwave. The full English breakfast wasn't the best. The bacon was hard and very very salty. They only gave us a cup of tea instead of a pot of tea, which wasn't great. I would rate it 2 stars but the cigarette smoke smell in the entrance room wasn't nice.'

The room was nice and clean, but the breakfast was horrendous. The staff members were rude, and there was a shortage of hot food. The apple juice was horrible and we asked for tea, and it was just black tea in a small mug. We asked for two pots of tea and they never came. We had to ask another time for tea and it finally came 10 minutes later. We complained to reception and asked if we would be able to speak to the manager. They said that they would send the manager over to our table, but they never came. Over all, this hotel was rubbish, and we will never come to a worst eastern again. We should have gone to the premier Inn down the road because the rooms are usually nicer there and the breakfast is nicer and the staff members are a lot more friendly.
this really is what the name is: it is the "worst" hotel in the whole of the "eastern" united kingdom.
I advise you check this hotel out on Google maps before coming here, and I advise that you should go to a premier Inn because they're much nicer.
I did some research on Google to see what the difference between Worst Eastern and Hotels by the highland Cafe is, and it said that they focused on "friendliness and comfort" but that's a pile of rubbish.
Also, by the way the elevators in this hotel are probably the worst I've ever seen in my life because when you press the up or down buttons, the lift doesn't even come to the floor you are on so we had to use the stairs.'
